This Privacy Policy describes how ClassBrain ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit getclassbrain.com or purchase the ClassBrain Guide.
Who we are
ClassBrain is a digital product for K-12 teachers, operating from within the European Union. ClassBrain is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Full controller identification is available on request at info@getclassbrain.com.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to deliver the product and run the site.
Information you give us
At checkout: your name, email address, and country. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store card numbers.
If you email us: the content of your message and any details you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
Analytics (Microsoft Clarity): IP address (anonymised by Microsoft), browser type, device type, pages viewed, time on page, click and scroll behaviour, and session recordings. Clarity helps us understand how visitors use the page so we can improve it.
Advertising attribution (Meta Pixel): a pixel from Meta (Facebook) fires when you visit the page, when you start a checkout, and when you complete a purchase. This lets us measure ad performance and shows that visitors took these actions. The pixel uses cookies set by Meta on your browser.
Hosting logs (Vercel): standard access logs including IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp, retained for a short period for security and operational monitoring.
How we use information
To process your order and deliver the ClassBrain Guide and bonuses.
To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
To process refunds under our 30-day money-back guarantee.
To measure ad performance and improve the page.
To comply with legal obligations (applicable tax law requires retention of sales records).
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business:
Stripe, Inc. (USA) — payment processing, receipts, refunds, tax compliance.
Microsoft Corporation (USA) — Microsoft Clarity analytics and session recordings.
Meta Platforms, Inc. (USA / Ireland) — advertising delivery and attribution.
Vercel, Inc. (USA) — website hosting and edge delivery.
Email delivery provider — sends your purchase receipt, the download link, and occasional product updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy practices and data processing agreements with us. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the providers' adequacy decisions where available.
Cookies
The site uses two non-essential third-party cookies: Microsoft Clarity (analytics, anonymous identifier) and Meta Pixel (advertising, cross-site identifier). We also set one first-party cookie (cb_country) at the edge to determine which consent rules apply to your visit, and one (cb_consent) to remember your choice. Neither first-party cookie is used for analytics or advertising.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland see a consent banner on first visit. Clarity and the Meta Pixel do not load and do not set any cookies until you click "Accept all". If you click "Reject all", neither tool loads. Your choice is remembered for 180 days.
Visitors outside those regions: Clarity and the Meta Pixel load by default. You can still withdraw or change consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. You can also opt out of Meta's advertising cookies at facebook.com/help/568137493302217.
Disabling cookies will not stop you from buying the guide.
Legal bases (EEA / UK)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:
Performance of a contract — processing your name, email, country, and payment record to deliver the ClassBrain Guide and the bonuses, and to handle refunds under the guarantee.
Consent — analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) and advertising cookies (Meta Pixel). You give consent through the banner; you can withdraw it at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Legal obligation — retaining sales records for the period required by applicable tax law.
Legitimate interests — site security, fraud prevention, and operational monitoring via hosting access logs. We rely on this basis only where your interests and rights do not override ours.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have specific rights over your personal information.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Receive a portable copy of your data.
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In the UK this is the ICO. In other countries it will be your national data protection authority.
If you are in California
Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of the Meta Pixel for advertising attribution may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. California residents can opt out of this sharing by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page (which also serves as our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control) and choosing "Reject all", or by using a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@getclassbrain.com. We will respond within 30 days.
How long we keep information
Sales records (name, email, purchase date, amount) — retained for the period required by applicable tax law (typically 7 to 10 years).
Analytics data — retained by Microsoft Clarity for up to 13 months.
Advertising attribution — retained per Meta's standard data retention policy.
Support emails — retained for as long as needed to resolve your request, then for up to 3 years for reference.
Children's privacy
ClassBrain is sold to professional educators. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email info@getclassbrain.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS encryption across the whole site, encrypted storage at our service providers, and access controls limiting who can see customer data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Significant changes will be announced at the top of this page.
